Luxury B&B bathroom for 2010

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

After much thought, we decided this February to add an interconnecting luxury bathroom to our King double room – so now we have 3 lovely bedrooms – a  spacious ensuite super king – a large king double, and a nice sized twin room to offer our B&B guests.

It is a total transformation and we are so pleased with the end result, this new bathroom has a white suite, with roll top slipper bath sitting in the middle of the room, with a super shower on the wall, & hand basin and toilet.  The crystal drops on the light fittings glimmered as I filled the bath with bubbles and enjoyed a relaxing time by candlelight, it had to be tested after all.

Our local plumbers & builder combination – Coates & Browne, installed this facility whilst I fed them bacon sandwiches & tea to keep their energy up.  They were very good and also cleaned up after themselves which is a big plus.

We wanted to make it a really special place for an Exmoor break for 1 or 2 couples, or a family getaway and this combination of rooms is perfect.

B&B Special offer for March – 3 nights for the price of 2, for 2 or more guests.

Lambing & Snowdrops

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

It was a glorious sunny day for lambing to start, but it did not last, snow again over night but thank fully not much and soon gone.  We have one lamb in front of the Aga as its Mum had a double and does not seem to want both – so far doing well.   14 Ewe’s have lambed so far just 60 more to go of this early group of half breds.  Main flock lambing starts  a couple of weeks before Easter so better weather for them we hope.

Our little bunches of Snowdrops are out to enjoy on the farm, but for the first time as it was Valentines day last Sunday, we made time and went to Snowdrop valley and walked the lovely wooded valley route to see the carpet of snowdrops with the stream rippling through the middle of them it was a pretty site and  another glorious day with the sun shining,  it may be Feb but we have had some simply great days in between the snow flurries.

So the pet lamb will be called Snowdrop of course.
